pseudo site & pen club

hey all, so i made a pseudo website/portfolio. really it's a tumblr, but that's ok. i need to start building a portfolio and this might just push me in the right direction. check it, http://chelswatt.tumblr.com/.

frankenstein

linear & a tiny bit of process work for an illustration based on mary shelley's frankenstein. it was changed a bit for the final, but basically the same. i would post the inked black and white, and the colour version, but i spilled coffee all over them, like any real student would do.

seconds

i haven't updated this thing in almost a month. mostly because i spent the majority of december not doing anything except socializing, working and sleeping. but now i'm into my second week of my second semester of my second year and i still have nothing to share, ha!

my mind's been a bit dry lately, and i'm finding it increasingly hard to sketch for assignments when i'd rather be reading or listening to music. and this sucks completely and is starting to stress me out since things are due and i have teachers to impress. dear self, snap out of this quick! (sorry for the bummer post, but i kind of needed to get this out.)

but, on a brighter side, the wonderful katie carey has launched a blog dedicated to sheridan illustrators; check it out here. even better, start your own tumblr and click that little "follow" icon at the top right-hand corner of the page. it's going to be interesting to see how everyone i know in second year progresses, as well as seeing what other illustrators in other years are doing.

break!

first semester ended a few days ago (i guess a week ago, this break is slipping by already), and it couldn't've come sooner since all that homework was starting to get me down. right now i'm thoroughly enjoying sitting around basically doing nothing, catching up on reading, boozing, cleaning and photographing. so yeah, up there's a few pages from my sketchbook, all drawn throughout first semester. 

i have no real plans for the next couple weeks and that's fine by me.
